AN ACT PROHIBITING THE USE OF CERTAIN LATEX PRODUCTS BY PERSONS WHO HANDLE FOOD.

      Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Chapter 94 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 305E the following section:—
Section 305F. Any person working in an establishment engaged wholly or in part in the business of producing, manufacturing, processing, storing or offering or exposing for sale any article of food and whose duties actually involve the handling of food during such production, manufacture, processing, storing or offering or exposing for sale shall not use latex gloves. If the department of public health finds, after notice and an opportunity for a hearing has been provided, that any establishment is not in compliance with the provisions of this section, it may assess civil penalties in an amount not exceeding $100 for each such violation.
