NEW YORK STATE ASSEMBLY -- 1997-1998 Regular Sessions
IN SENATEAN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to the use by health care providers of certain latex products as a prophylaxis
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 206 of the public health law is amended by adding a new subdivision 17 to read as follows:
17. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS PROHIBITING THE USE BY ANY HEALTH CARE PROVIDER OF ANY LATEX PRODUCT COATED WITH A PREPARATION IN THE FORM OF FINE PARTICLES OF TALC, CORNSTARCH OR OTHER MINERAL AS A PROPHYLAXIS.
S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after it shall have become a law; provided, however, that any rules and regulations necessary for the timely implementation of this act on its effective date shall be promulgated on or before such date.
